This charming 1927 American Farm house is loaded with character. The original double hung windows allow an enormous amount of light to show off the lead paned built-in cabinets and hardwood floors. The front door is a Dutch style and always surprises delivery men and "trick or treat" visitors. The house has gas, so you heat, cook and have a small stove in the living room for atmosphere. The first bedroom is on the main floor and has been used for a den / TV room. The living and dinning rooms are joined by a coved arch, with seating for large groups of family and friends for the holiday meals. The bathroom has a small window for ventilation and is surrounded by white tile with a classic theme. The bedrooms upstairs have new carpet. The rooms have baseboard heat, but rarely used as the heat from down stairs rises. We added new insulation in the attic and this has lowered heating bills. The house has handmade working shutters to close up the house in the summer, keeping it cool and warm in winter. The basement holds the washer and dryer but unfinished as of now and waiting for T.L.C. Lots of storage. The yard has two patios. One on the north west corner of the front yard, the other is set up for bar-b-que right off the kitchen back door. The yard has many mature trees. It is a seasonal yard! The trees supply shade and much cooler temperatures in the summer, beautiful color in spring and fall. The house loves snow. There are many plants and shrubs that attract birds, bees and butterflies. A bird house is situated just out side the kitchen window to watch our feathered friends while working in the country kitchen. This is a must see!
