Large Dutch Colonial Revival home built by C. W. Prewett (builder of the old Carnegie Library in Parkersburg). Construction of the home started in 1905 and was finished in 1906. The home was completely restored/renovated in 2008-2010. Work done included installation of a completely new kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances and stone counters; adding an additional bathroom and second floor laundry and completely gutting and renovating the original bathroom and powder rooms. Heated stone floors were installed in bathrooms/laundry room. Original unpainted oak staircase, mantels, and moldings still exist throughout the house. There are maple wood floors in dining room and third floor ballroom; oak floors in first floor rooms; heart pine floors on second floor and third floor front room. Over $80K spent on rebuilding retaining walls and on landscaping in 2013.
