612 E. 34th Street is in the Waverly Historic District and is a historic Victorian home. It was the very first house built on the 600 block of E. 34th Street and possibly very first house ever built in the general Waverly area. It was built shortly after the Civil War as a summer home for the children of a wealthy farmer who owned the land surrounding the house. Neighborhood Description Waverly is a very nice neighborhood with little crime in general. Greenmount Avenue is the main shopping area for Waverly with numerous retail venues and carry-out food venues and Waverly has a YMCA, a Giant Food supermarket and a library.
