Do you remember when you were younger and there was that one house in the neighborhood that everyone knew about? It was the house on the cul-de-sac that everyone used to hang out at because they had the best backyard in the 'hood. It backed to the woods and all the neighborhood kids would play hide and seek back there, float boats in the creek and then go up to the treehouse where they would play games or camp out in the sleeping loft. There were always popsicles on the deck after dinner with S'mores on the firepit after it got dark. Then everyone would go inside and have dance parties in the basement until the parents told everyone it was late, and it was time to go home. They had this cool disco ball light, sound system and a real sprung dance floor because the kids that lived there did competitive dancing. A few kids would try and hide in the huge storage room in the basement and some would even sneak up into the attic. On occasion you had sleepovers because there was so much room in the bedrooms and living areas, you could all bring sleeping bags and camp out in the house and on the back deck under the stars. When you were older, you were probably invited with your parents there for a potluck dinner and the adults would usually hang out in the huge living room and family room and there would be a buffet in the dining room for everyone to grab food. In the fall and winter, there was always a fire going in one or two of the wood burning fireplaces and movie night would be a regular thing because they had this fully decked out projector with a massive hidden screen and high-end theatre sound system and you would spend your Saturday nights with your ten best friends from the neighborhood watching movies and then playing basketball or riding up and down the street and around the corner because it's a dead end and you didn't have to worry about traffic. That house always had a ton of yard games and extra bikes because there were so many storage areas and they had two really cool workshops too. As you got older, you may have noticed that the homeowners took such good care of the house. They were always gardening and sprucing things up. Upgrading things as the years went on...windows, roof, kitchen, garage door, HVAC, water heater, fresh paint, etc. They had plenty of time to do all those things and enjoy their home because their work commute was so short...the Metro and the Beltway being less than a mile away after all. You may be thinking a unicorn house like this could never be found these days. Or maybe it could??? And it is actually for sale. ....NOW. Maybe you should check it out soon before someone else swoops it up and lives the life that you have been reminiscing about.
