All adult occupants (there are 13 units in the building) become members of the board of directors and are required to participate actively in decision-making and building up-keep. Monthly board meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday evening of every month and are mandatory. You will also be expected to serve on two of the co-op's five standing committees. Work requirements (AKA sweat equity) are 2 hours per month doing chores such as shoveling snow, cleaning the laundry room, or cutting grass; there are also two 4-hour community workdays per year.
