We put on a new roof; we installed a new boiler, and a 50 gal water heater and we scraped off all the paint and painted the house in the summer of 2005. There is a new front door and screen, and a new back door and screen, and we have all new outside light and plumbing fixtures. There are beautiful, hardwood floors, that we have decided to carpet to simplify cleaning. There is a beautiful, warm, woodsy, cozy feeling in the house with a working fire place with Portland Willamette doors with new stainless steel lining in the chimney. When you enter through the front door you see the walnut molding and leaded glass, built-in, bookcases that accentuate the mantle, the brick fireplace, the entryways, the windows, the dining room and the stairs. There is an absolutely modern kitchen with ceramic tile, with tall 42 inch Thomasville cherry cabinets with all stainless steel fixtures and new wiring. The entire inside of the house has been painted and the bathroom has also been renovated with a new vanity and cabinets, and with a water saving device in the shower. There is a new pine, wood shed, in the yard. Neighborhood Description Although the house is located on Central Avenue, it is high above the street such that you don't really hear the traffic. It is within walking distance to the train, and yet far enough that you don't really hear the train. It is a lovely colonial house that is in absolutely, move-in condition. Although deceiving from the outside, the house has lots of room to live in and to afford privacy to a large family.
