    What's special

One bedroom one bathTwo full egress windows

$1400/mo TOTAL!! Includes ALL utilities, Wi-Fi and security system. NO additional fees. Fully newer finished basement apartment with separate entrance through the side/back yard. One bedroom, one bath, full kitchen with pantry closet, small laundry room with some storage space and top loading washer/dryer provided-just for you. Two full egress windows-one in the kitchen, one in the bedroom. Full closet in the bedroom with double doors. The flooring is stained concrete throughout the kitchen and living areas, penny round floor tile in the bathroom with shower (no tub), cork floor in the bedroom. The ceiling height varies between 74" under a short section of duct work that is encased outside of the bedroom (lowest point) to 85" height in the kitchen area. There are just two sections of duct work (the one outside of the bedroom and the one in the kitchen). The variation is due to the floor sloping (unnoticeably) from the south side toward the floor drain on the North side. The majority of the space is roughly 77" in height, so if you're REALLY tall, you might not love this. There is plenty of free street parking by the stairs leading to your entrance, which is keyless. This unit is in the basement of a 1929 house which has been remodeled. The upstairs consists of 1 bedroom, 1 bath, living room, kitchen and dining room on the main floor. This bedroom is rented furnished and this tenant shares living space with me. The top floor consists of one bedroom, an office (both mine) and laundry closet I share with my housemate, which means you have your own laundry room with the washer and dryer provided (and no coin op!). You don't need to live in a big apartment building with many loud neighbors, pay for laundry and haul it up and down floors. This can be your home! The back yard is fully fenced (brand new) and there is a BBQ and some outdoor furniture (table and chairs, resin adirondack style chairs and a fire bowl that I bring out for the nice weather to share if/when burn bans allow. There is an area for a vegetable garden and some established planting and if you like to garden, I'm happy to give up some space dedicated to that. The surrounding gardens are English garden style-beautiful flowers and plants around the front and side of the corner lot. I am just finishing up a sauna installation. Although I MAY consider others using it at some point, this is likely to be reserved for my use only due to access, health/safety, cleaning and maintenance. There is a detached, very small garage on the property which is used to store yard equipment and outdoor furniture. You can also store a bike in there. There is not really current space for much storage, but if you have a few small items to store, they will probably fit in the laundry room down there which has some shelves and wall hooks. The garage is up a VERY steep, short driveway behind the house. The basement space is unfurnished, however I did buy a small, cute table and two chairs from my last tenant because they fit well in the space. There is a small water stain on the top by the wall that she just covered with something cute sitting on the table. If you don't want to use them, I will part with them. We are a very quiet, serene household. We typically wear ear buds, don't watch much TV, keep things on very low volume, have only small and occasional intimate gatherings and due to allergies and other health issues, everyone in the household must adhere to VERY light to no scented (including laundry detergent, lotions, perfumes, candles, cleaning items, etc) because we do have shared ventilation through the house. We have a strict NO SMOKING of anything rule on the entire property and NO PETS allowed (both also due to health and safety reasons-I have allergies and autoimmune issues). About us-I'm 54, work remotely from home and love to hike, do yoga, cook, garden, travel abroad and local, be in nature in all ways. The main floor housemate just moved out, so I am not sure yet who will be moving in. I am friends with most of the neighbors around us and it's such a great neighborhood. The area is a quiet residential neighborhood and so handy to get to amazing things-highways in all directions out of town or walking to Alberta Park or busy streets for art, food, activity. There is also a "Bike Boulevard" about 4 blocks from us that travels East/West. The house is located a convenient 5 minute walk to the new University of Oregon Campus (formerly Concordia University) and there is a bus stop one block from the house. *NOTE: the MAX train is not close to the house, but the #75 bus runs on NE Dekum St., which is one block away. Both prior basement tenants and the main floor housemates lived here for mid-long term, two for nearly 6 years! They both moved out to move on with their loves to next adventures. My most recent housemate came in as a short term situation and opted to stay. She was here over 2 years. I post for the bedroom/shared space through Furnished Finder. The basement tenants have advised me I should definitely talk up how cool it stays in the summer down there. It stayed below 76 degrees down there during our big heat wave a couple years ago. *Please note that I've included some pictures from a couple different tenants' furnishings/decor. This unit is available to just ONE tenant due to size and price. If this sounds like a good fit, please reach out! The space was just vacated and I'm working on cleaning and some painting on my weekends, so it will be available on 5/1. As previously mentioned, the rent is $1400 including fiber optic WIFI, all utilities, home security system and use of the shared yard space and outdoor furniture. I raised the rent only once-the 5th year for the basement tenant and my long term housemate and I intend on keeping the price set for as long as possible. I do have bi-annual maintenance for which I will need access to the space (servicing hot water heater, furnace). This is my home, so I am committed to staying on top of things fully. If anything breaks, leaks, etc-I will want to know immediately so that I have it repaired. I take impeccable care of things and most everything has been gone through in this house now, so I'm not EXPECTING anything to break or leak. Please know that I require renter's insurance and proof thereof. This generally costs around $15-20/month and protects YOU should anything catastrophic happen to the dwelling b/c my homeowners insurance will not cover your belongings. This protects YOU. This neighborhood is the best! Along with knowing most of my friendly neighbors and hanging out with them, it is VERY walkable-to UofO (formerly Concordia University) campus, Alberta park, restaurants and shops on NE Dekum, NE Killingsworth and NE Alberta. We are located 11 minutes from the airport and it takes 5-15 minutes to hit any of the main highways/roads out of town in any direction. NOTE: I'm getting spam calls including calls from people claiming to be agents looking for housing for their clients and people submitting applications that are not a match (have pets, looking for 6 months lease, etc). I will no longer be messaging folks back who do this so I can devote time to those who are serious. Please tell me a little bit about yourself so I can know you are a live human being and prioritize you. Thank you and good luck out there. The unit is available to rent month to month. I am not interested in really short term renters, so 1 year minimum is asked with 30 days notice to vacate. There will be a background check completed which you are responsible to cover the cost of. (I believe it's about $30-50). We will also sign a rental agreement which will have all the details about policies, expectations. The total monthly payment is $1400. This includes everything-rent, security system, wi-fi and all utilities. There are no extra monthly fees.
