The Writer's Cabin is a rustic one-room homestead cabin & creation haven, sitting on a remote 5-acre Mojave Desert expanse. Wonder Valley is a community filled with artists, writers and musicians looking for quiet desert magic. The cabin is 15 minutes from the east entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, and 10 mins from fine dining and amenities in the town of Twentynine Palms. Please be aware that while most find it serene and comfortable, it does NOT have an indoor bathroom. The cabin has everything you need for a glamping experience or solo creative retreat. It has a queen memory-foam bed, as well as an additional full futon. The outside clawfoot tub is epic to soak in while catching sunsets. Stargaze while sitting next to the fire pit with a glass of whiskey. There is a new mini-split unit that provides heat & A/C. Cooking is available on an induction hotplate and convection oven. It has a mini-fridge, washer and dryer. The property is very quiet with zero light pollution. It's surrounded on three sides by government land. There's a beautiful wash to go walking in that's BLM land just behind the property. If you want a break from isolation, Kitchen in the Desert has great food and a chill vibe 10 mins away. Campbell Hill Bakery on the downtown stretch has divine pastries and sandwiches. If you want to catch some music or hang with Wonder Valley locals, the Palms Bar and Restaurant is a couple miles away. (Call ahead they are on "desert time.") You are 30 mins from the town of Joshua Tree and 40 mins to Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriets. Well behaved dogs are welcome but please be mindful that this is a wild area with rattlesnakes and coyotes. I do not charge a pet fee but will bill for any clean up inside or out ($70) and any damage (at cost). Dogs are not allowed on JTNP trails so keep that in mind if your pup is likely to do damage when you are gone. The wi-fi is the fastest we can get out here. It's not like the city but it's fast enough to stream and work. I have one neighbor you may see 3 acres away but he has a trailer in front of his cabin that allows privacy. It has a port-o-potty serviced weekly and the shower/bathtub is outside. All utilities included - even internet! No smoking inside the cabin
