Bonneville Pointe Subdivision is named in honor of U.S. Army Captain Benjamin Bonneville and his party who are credited with naming the Boise Valley, during an expedition in 1833. Captain Bonneville?s route helped to establish what became the Oregon Trail for settlers entering the Boise River Valley. Bonneville Pointe is truly unique in that it abuts the historic Oregon Trail. In fact, you can still see the ruts that were carved there more than 150 years ago by the wagon wheels of westbound emigrants on the Oregon Trail.
