I believe our home was built in about 1964. We have lived here since 1998. Is a great single story home, with a finished walk out basement and an attached 2 car garage. Has an enclosed back porch, that because of the walk out basement is a second floor overlook of the Paw Paw River. Our home has two bedrooms that are finished in Cherry that came from the property and the basement is finished in Pine that came off the property as well. We installed sliding doors in the Master Bedroom that gives access to a 4 X 12 balcony that offers a second story overlook of the river, creek, pond and front yard. The kitchen and living room are an open floor plan with plenty of room. We have Comcast Cable, and a new 5 inch well. While we had no problem with the septic, it was the original septic system, so we are having a new septic system installed. We are located at the end of a paved dead end road with very little traffic. Acreage consists of about 6 acres of open land, planted with Christmas Trees, while the rest is wooded. We fenced in about an acre around the house. Because of the woods it feels very isolated, but we are only a few minutes away from Watervliet and a very nice Hospital. Only about 20 minutes to St. Joseph, about 35 minutes to Kalamazoo and less then 2 hours from Chicago. What we love most about our home is that we love the outdoors. Living here puts us right on the Paw Paw River and we"re surrounded by woods. We enjoy watching wildlife. From the house we see Deer, Fox, Coyotes, Raccoons, Opossum, Skunks Squirrels, Chipmunks, Ground Hogs, Hawks, Bald Eagles, Falcon, and while we didn't see it last year, we had a black bear within about 8 miles. The bird feeders out front bring in all the local birds and we routinely see Pileated Woodpeckers. On the river we see pretty much every species of duck that comes to Michigan, as well as Herons, King Fishers, and Mink, Muskrat and Beaver and of course all the local snakes and turtles. If you are a hunter or fisherman. Fishing is good on the Paw Paw River and the property holds plenty of small game and has provided some great deer hunting. Our house has an open floor plan and tons of windows. Living here is like being on an extended camping trip with all the comforts of home. Not only a great place to watch wildlife, but also just to watch the changing seasons. Winter is a great time when there is a fire in the fireplace. We think our house has helped make our lives as great as it is and would not consider selling it, but our plans are to sell our home, pick up a fifth wheel and spend about 15 years bouncing around.
