MOVE-IN DATE: January/ February 2026, depending on when we find the right fit! We are looking for very reliable, responsible people who communicate transparently and respectfully. The Roundhouse of Millerton has sustainability, efficiency, and environmental impact at the forefront of all the last owners' decisions, it is solidly and very thoughtfully built. The equipment and furnitures are now fairly minimal (the photos show the house when we fully furnished it - it is still staged but with different furniture today). The place can be rented with or without some of the beds/ tables/ chairs that are still in the house. Millerton is a 20 minute drive (or 50 minute bike-ride on the rail-trail) from the Wassaic train station (MTA North), ~2hrs from Penn Station NYC. It is a charming little village, at a walking distance from the house. NYS Home Energy Star Rated, the house was designed to maximize the southern exposure (while remaining cool inside in the summer), and it's surrounded by all you can wish in the countryside. The house has lots of natural light; it is solid, very well-insulated, unique, and very comfortable. - First month rent and 1 month's rent for security deposit, - Utilities are NOT included, - No smoking in the house, - Parking on driveway (do not park on the lawn - septic system underneath), or street (free), no garage. - Preferably no pets, but negotiable. Additional remarks: - ECOSMARTE Water filtration system just serviced; - HEATING is with oil (baseboards throughout the house with 3 thermostats/zones for heating in the house), but we only used only our energy-efficient wood stove the winters we lived there. HOT WATER also in heated by oil. - Stove/ Oven: Suburban propane. - Electricity bill: very low thanks to our solar panels. - We use Welsh/Casella for our waste management. - Huge unfinished basement (1,500 sqft), but no garage. We would like to find someone we can really trust, who knows how to take care of a house, and who we can completely count on for rent being systematically on time (therefore a good credit score is requested, and proof of income).
