    What's special

Third owner and have been here 15 years. Well maintained. 9" wood siding stripped and repainted every 10 years for life of home. Trane H/E gas forced air supplemented with a soapstone wood stove. The woodstove has a catalytic converter and can heat the entire main house all winter. One of our main projects is to "green" the house. All lathe and plaster has been taken off of outside walls and Ultratouch (R-20) has been put in. We are halfway through replacing all of the 1/8" glass with 3/8" glass. Tankless gas water heater for the main house. Tankless electric water heater for the stainless steel soaking tub in the main bath. 3 Kw Solar Array. Clark PUD and Washington State pay an incentive of 15 cents per KwH produced whether used by us or not. We are on track to be the first NET-ZERO home in Clark County in 2008. One bathroom in the house and one in the Mother-In-Law apartment. The two bedrooms on the main floor are combined into a master suite with his/hers closet space and a small sitting room. The hall opens to the living room and is lined with built-in bookshelves. The upstairs is original knotty pine and has served as a bedroom. In 1995, the garage roof was replaced with an apartment connected to a 30' X 15' two level addition. The entire second floor of this addition is a Mother-In-Law apartment with a seperate staired entrance through the garage. My grandmother lived there happily for 5 years. This "rentable" apartment now opens to the upstairs of the house. A very nice space for a college student or relative. The fenced and gated back yard has a rose garden, space for firewood and a greenhouse. There are rhododendrons, 2 lilac trees, a camelia tree and Grand Magnolia. The front yard has a "mostly unused" sprinkler system. The front yard has a 30 year old Japanese split-leafed maple with a large variety of other shade trees and herbs as well as outdoor seating. We planted a small vegetable garden this year. Neighborhood Description Well kept, lots of older residents, quite a few children. Quiet. Dog friendly.
