This home has just undergone an extensive 8 month renovation. The renovation includes new floors (no carpet), all new appliances, new ac/heat, new water heater, every light switch and every electrical socket was replaced, including GFCI receptacles in every location. New incoming electrical service was installed, including new pole, new meter, new circuit box and new connections for the washer and dryer. All lighting is LED and outside lights are on motion sensors. The doors were refinished and have all new locks. Every door knob has been replaced and all locks operate with the same key. Of course, the home was completely painted inside and out, however, the beautiful wood was preserved in the interior doors, the doorways, the kitchen, the baseboards and the bathroom. This brick home on cement slab foundation was built by my Grandfather in 1952. He and my Grandmother raised their three sons there. It currently is set up as a a very comfortable and spacious two bedroom with a dining room, formal living room and a den. However there are spaces in the house, like the very large formal living room and a semi finished garage that show promise in the event the owner wishes to repurpose them. The formal living room area could easily make two nice sized bedrooms and the former Garage area is ripe for conversion to a mother in law suite or a hobby shop. You can see what I mean in the pictures. The 1200 square foot barn that goes with the house has withstood storms since 1958. There is also an additional 1.446 acres of land that connects with this property that is available from this seller. In addition to living there, my grandparents and my father ran businesses from the property so there is the potential for commercial use as well. There is plenty of room on the property for gardening and for the kids to play. The grounds have been manicured and, although the felled trees from the recent hurricane damaged the yard, it is on the mend and a with a little warm weather, all the leveled out spots should grass over quickly. The house and the barn were completely undamaged by the storm. This is tough construction. This home is in a high spot in the community of Jones Creek and has NEVER flooded. Jones Creek is halfway between Brazoria and Freeport on Highway 36. The house is in great shape but there are still a few things that need to be done and the seller continues to work on them. The driveway culverts are being replaced. A contractor has been hired and arrangements are under way to get that done. Elsewhere, with the addition of a garage door, the attached garage could be used again. There is a temporary wall covering the door space. The barn doors also need to be removed or replaced. The seller is not able to complete replacement at this time as covid has created months long backorders for garage doors. For full disclosure, the size of the home on the county's website is incorrect and that is being addressed. Apparently someone measured a digital footprint and included the garage as well as the wide eves in the measurement of the livable space. The home is actually around 1700 square feet.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
