This classic Arizona Territorial style house is perched at the end of a well-maintained gravel driveway, off of the main road. It's very private, but not isolated, with majestic views. The gentle hillside, along the driveway, is covered with healthy mesquite trees and the house overlooks the Santa Rita mountains, including Elephant Head to the East, the Tumacacori-mountain-range to the West and the extensive Coronado Forest on each side of Tubac. The house was constructed in 1978 by the architect/artist, Elizabeth Hazen. Ms. Hazen was one of the first in the area to bring craftsmen up from Mexico to add special touches to the houses she built and to use materials from Mexico that work well in a high desert climate such as Tubac. She used Sasabe adobe block for this house construction
