South Chatham is approximately 4 miles from downtown Chatham and about 2 miles to Harwich Port Center. This is a transitional area of Chatham, where people are buying existing cottages and renovating them or replacing them with beautiful new homes. Thus the value of the area keeps increasing and it makes for a great investment opportunity. It is a mixed area of summer residents, year-rounders, and a popular area for summer rentals because of all the sandy Nantucket Sound beaches in this area. There are also a number of fine (Zagat-rated) restaurants close by, and fun coffee-shops and sandwich shops as well. It is very easy to get to South Chatham, and you don't have the traffic issues that downtowners face in the summer!
