A contributing property in the Angelino Heights HPOZ, and the 44-year residence of multidisciplinary designer Geraldine "Gere" Kavanaugh, the house's interior is a testament to her vibrant personality. Raised in Memphis, she discovered a completely different way of seeing color when she moved to Los Angeles; magenta and purple hillsides, and streets lined with jacaranda trees set against bright blue skies. Her residence is similarly bursting with vibrancy and texture, and she hand selected paint colors for example, to bring the green of the outdoors into the living room, or brighten up other rooms with yellow and lavender. The residence includes 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, fireplace in the living room, formal dining with built-in cabinet, dressing area in primary bedroom, office with views of downtown, alley access parking, and whimsical hand painted messages by Gere throughout. One message by the front door reads: Built in 1906 - 1998 still in progress.
