This extraordinary classic Haight Ashbury condo graces in a 2-unit Edwardian building built in 1907. I've personally lived here since 2012 and absolutely love this home. It has amazing energy, is extremely comfortable, convenient and loaded with charm inside and out. In my experience here, this is absolutely the best place to live in San Francisco sitting just up the hill from the Haight Ashbury corridor, and Cole Valley with just a 5 minute walk to access Golden Gate Park (with it's amazing tennis center, museums, gardens, events, and spaces to find serenity or create activities for oneself or with community). The elevated unit is elevated one flight of stairs from street level, above view of the sidewalk and street traffic. Since it's well above street level, there is great natural light with east and west exposures getting morning and afternoon sun, which also bathes the generous, exquisitely designed and now beautifully mature backyard. The furnishing is simple and leans towards classic modern with clean lines throughout. It's chosen for comfort too. Unique art and color abounds. With care taken for design and lighting, I've been told the place is "vibe'y" and that means alot to me. :) The interior space is 1576 square feet, currently laid out with 2 bedrooms (master and guest) and the front parlor room (third bedroom) set up as a complete studio. The studio is equipped with built-ins, furnishings, electronics, lighting, and equipment that elevates zoom calls and video podcasting. As you come through the hall you pass the bedrooms and baths. As these are in the interior of the home, they are protected from street noise (which tends to be a non issue as the neighborhood is quiet in the evenings). Towards the back of the house is wonderful for relaxing and entertaining. The dining room has space for 6, and the living room opening to the dining room on one side and the patio on the other has a nice flow for living and entertaining. The living room has a gas fireplace which is super cozy on colder evenings. The living room also has a drop down movie screen perfect for portable projectors, and a high end analog stereo system. The adjacent kitchen is well stocked with everything including extensive cookware, solid appliances, and a wine refrigerator. Through the kitchen is the reading nook, the perfect spot to spread out on the oversized furniture and enjoy morning coffee, a zoom call, and reading in the evening. The laundry room in the home is accessed through a secret door in the kitchen. French doors in the living room open to the private patio. The redwood deck was just refinished and stained and looks beautiful. Down a flight of stairs you enter the zen garden appointed with luxe and ample seating, a dining space with heated lamps, water features, sculpture, and a selection of mature plants and trees including gorgeous Japanese maples. There is garage parking for 2 cars. Plus, the garage is built out as a prototyping studio that is excellent for group meetings and brainstorm sessions. Access to park space makes this place a truly special part of San Francisco. Golden Gate Park is a 5 minute walk, and it has a number of brand new upgrades including a completely renovated tennis center, and upgraded frontage to the park which has been completely replanted. The frontage now has a European flair with bocce courts and an outdoor cafe run by Flywheel Coffee Roasters. If you're familiar with the Park you know it has so much more to offer. Less popular and even more Serene is the Sutro Reserve, a hill side set of trails for walking or biking you can access on Stanyan Street, about a 10 minute walk away, as well as Buena Vista Park, Corona Heights Park, the Panhandle and Tank Hill which is a beautiful spot for sunsets. Along Haight Street are many shops, including Whole Foods and Gus' Community Market (which is expanding into adjacent space and becoming larger). Nested between the Haight Street corridor and Cole Street you have access to a number of restaurants, coffee shops and unique retail stores.A short walk is the trendy Divisidero corridor, and the Inner Sunset and Inner Richmond districts with the best international cuisine and shopping. Hayes Valley, the Casto and the Mission District are all a short walk or ride for more options for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Excellent walk score. Excellent transit. The unit is being offered fully furnished with parking included for $7500 plus utilities. Willing to accept best offer from the right person. :) Renter responsible for utilities. Pets may require additional deposit.
