Enjoy the seasonal fruit trees including cherries, oranges, lemons, lychee, passion fruit, coconuts, and avocados. You can see the ocean from the property. We grow Oyster mushrooms here and provide them for the local store. You're welcome to grow your own food here. The cottage is the perfect sanctuary for one person. Couples considered if it is the right fit at a higher monthly rate due to added use of resources. The cottage has one large spacious main bedroom/living room and an additional smaller loft bedroom upstairs which could also be used as meditation space or office. The cottage has an outdoor lanai/deck that's a wonderful spot for morning tea or coffee. It has a full (newly installed) bathroom with bathtub. Kitchen complete with propane-powered oven. The cottage runs on solar power and propane and uses water catchment. We'll provide the initial propane tanks and you'll provide your own propane refills. Rental includes access to Starlink Internet, which is extremely reliable for working from home. The entire property is off-grid. Because of that, we don't experience power or water or Internet outages during storms as other properties do. Our water is free from harsh chemicals. The cottage is located in the small neighborhood of Nahiku, which is 30 minutes west of Hana and 90 minutes east of Paia. There are lots of community events in Hana, including a great Farmers Market. We get a lot of rain here. This is a tropical environment, and we share the land with critters and mosquitos. We have comfortable breezy temperature year-round. 3 people live on the property (30s and 40s) and we like sharing occasional dinners and game nights. We're looking for someone who aligns with our values of healthy living, self-sufficiency, and living symbiotically with nature close to the land. The property is alcohol-free. No smoking. We respect one another's space and keep a quiet peaceful atmosphere. This is a working farm and place for reflection. Not a place for parties, loud music, lots of guests going in and out, etc. One friendly Catahoula dog lives on the property, and we'll be getting some chickens/ducks in the near future. Sorry, no other pets. We're looking for someone who wants to live here for 6 months minimum. Ideally, someone who wants to grow roots in a beautiful place.
