Lovely, light-filled, well maintained home in walking distance to the town square in Burnsville. Close to the library and Parkway Playhouse. Views of Celo Knob in winter, and the feeling of being in a treehouse in the summertime. This is a great home for one or two adults. Open kitchen, dining, and living areas. The house can be partially furnished or unfurnished, as you choose. Portable oil radiators supplied for additional heat in the bedrooms and bathroom if desired. Claw foot bathtub is perfect for soaking; also equipped for showering. Good insulation keeps heating and cooling costs down. I am an artist and have enjoyed doing renovations slowly while living in the home: Concrete countertop, glass-windowed cabinets above and marmoleum flooring in the kitchen. Red oak flooring in most of the house, treated with oil/wax finish (soft & beautiful, adds a feeling of warmth; also more delicate than polyurethane). Note: Floors can be kinda creaky with changes in the weather. Custom hardwood cabinet (oak and cherry) and tile flooring in the bathroom. 45 minutes to downtown Asheville (when traffic is light), 20 minutes to wilderness areas in the Black Mountains, 1 hour to Sugar Mountain. 1. Month-to-month lease. 2. Renter pays for: -- Electricity (cost varies based on your usage) -- Internet/TV (house is wired for Spectrum fiber-powered service, cost depends on your plan) -- Town of Burnsville water, sewer, trash & recycle pickup services (currently the flat rate is $54.48 per mo unless there is high water usage). 3. The driveway is short and paved, but quite steep (see photos to get a sense of this). There is room for two cars to fit comfortably at the top. It is possible to turn around up top if only one car is there, but not possible if there are two, so it's best to be comfortable backing downhill. 4. In the winter months: a) When there is snow, plan to either park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up, shovel the driveway, or stay home until the snow melts-the driveway is black, so it usually doesn't take too long to melt, especially if you shovel it. b) Renter responsible for setting faucets to drip when temperature drops below 20 degrees (to prevent frozen pipes). 5. Owner responsible for mowing every other week during warm months. 6. Pet policy: Up to 2 cats allowed. $500 pet deposit required, refundable if there is no pet-related damage. 7. No smoking or vaping allowed inside the home. 8. Renters insurance required. 8. Deposit: First and last month's rent, plus $1250 security deposit. Owner and tenant will complete a walk through before move in and at move out. Security deposit refundable if the property is clean and undamaged at move out inspection. In the event of damage, actual cost of professional repair will be deducted from deposit.
