Great neighborhood! Hayfield Farms is located off Telegraph Road, about two miles from Ft. Belvoir Telegraph gate and one from the Coast Guard TISCOM base. There are only 3 roads that lead into Hayfield Farms. There is no throughway to any other street. All the streets and yards are lined with mature trees. All homes are single family homes. Hayfield Farm is part of the Fairfax Country School system and the school that most kids attend is Hayfield Elementary and Hayfield Secondary, both schools are located across from each other and most homes are located within a mile to school. It is a safe and easy walk to both schools. Hayfield Farms is also located about 2.5 miles to the Springfield/Franconia Blue Metro Line, which also has an Amtrak stop. Hayfield Farms does not have a HOA, but does have a community association that is voluntary to join. They put out a newsletter and send out an occasional email to keep residents informed of neighborhood activities, lost and found, crime and the occasional fox sighting. There is a community play ground and a swimming pool (membership required). Hayfield Farms is located about 3miles to I95/I395, 12 miles to DC, 8 miles to the Pentagon, and 7 miles to Old town Alexandria. For military folks, Ft. Belvoir has a really nice Exchange and Commissary. Also has a hospital (Dewitt) and is currently building a new state of the art medical facility. Ft. Belvoir has tons of activities and services for the whole family.
