The living room has a decorative fireplace topped with the original mantle, and an adjacent walk-in closet often used as a small office and/or additional closet space. Apartment No. 6 is located on the second floor with an exterior entrance via a private staircase. All rooms have a beautiful view of the gardens below, and the city and magnificent San Gabriel mountain range beyond. From the living room, the view is framed by an original 1891 stained glass window. Two pairs of French doors lead to a very private, entertainment-sized, circular balcony with a lovely view of the city and the canopy of our huge Moreton Bay fig tree (the second-largest in the country). The balcony has an outdoor electrical outlet and a hose bib, making it convenient to add little white lights and to water your outdoor plants. Originally a family estate built in 1891, "Grace Mansion" was converted into eight one-bedroom, one-bath apartments in the 1920s. The building is the pinnacle of the hill, surrounded by lawns and mature trees. Each apartment has its own exterior entrance on different sides of the building, which allows for great privacy. Each is separately metered for gas, electricity, and cable hook-up (we pay for water, trash, and garden maintenance). We have owned the building for 36 years and have lovingly maintained and upgraded the building while preserving its vintage architecture. We do not live on the site. One car parking per occupant is assigned on the property. Storage may be available for rent in the basement, depending on the quantity. Dogs and cats are accepted on a case-by-case basis. A pet deposit is required. Just a walk or bike ride away to Pasadena or South Pasadena light-rail stations, the EV Charging Depot on Glenarm Street (26 chargers, 20 of them Tesla V3 Superchargers), Art Center College of Design's Raymond Avenue campus, and grocery stores. The historic Old Town Pasadena dining/shopping/entertainment district is just a few blocks' drive away. A security deposit equal to one month's rent is required. A renter's insurance policy will be required throughout tenancy. Tour availability is dependent on giving our tenant adequate notice to show the apartment. Do not disturb tenants.
