This non smoking apartment will be available in early September. This apartment is part of a fairly well divided house that was originally built in the late 1800's. The house is divided into two one-bedroom apartments, a two bedroom apartment, and a three bedroom apartment. Some of the "old world" charm of the house carries over to this apartment. The apartment has it's own porch that overlooks Pearl St. The apartment has an original fireplace that was originally designed for burning coal as opposed to logs. The fireplace has long ago become non-functional but some people put a candle or two in the fireplace and that creates a bit of atmosphere. The living room features nine foot ceilings and some built in storage. Both the living room and bedroom feature hardwood flooring. The bedroom has a fairly typically sized closet and fairly significant storage up high (see pictures). The bedroom is 8'5" wide and 12'6" long. The bathroom has a ceramic tile floor and a full bathtub. The kitchen isn't huge but it provides ample storage and works rather well. There's a "back door" in the kitchen that leads out to a small yard area. The apartment does not have laundry or central air conditioning. According to DTE on 5/13/2025, the AVERAGE combined monthly gas and electric bill for this space looking back over a year, has been about $80/month. Your results will vary based on personal usage habits, weather, and rate changes. This isn't the largest one-bedroom space that I offer, but it always seems to work well for a person who needs a little more space than a studio typically offers. If you are interested in viewing this space, please suggest a time or two that works for you and I'll do my best to accommodate your needs. Please note that I need to give my current tenant a couple of days notice and I try to avoid showing the apartment before noon on weekends. Tenant pays for gas and electric. Landlord pays for water. According to DTE, as of 4/24/2025, the AVERAGE monthly gas and electric bill for the single occupant who lives there has been $120.00/month.
