Highly desirable Evergreen Meadows. Neighborhood Description You are very smart to consider Evergreen Meadows. We did not know much about the area when we moved for my job 15 years ago. We found an older house we could afford off North Turkey Creek. It was close to Denver and my office, but not close to anything else, schools, stores, well, anything. As we fixed it up, Sue started her career in real estate and got to know all the other subdivisions. And we realized Evergreen Meadows was where we wanted to live. We’ve been here about 10 years. We raised our 3 girls here. It’s centrally located. Marshdale Elementary is about 2 miles north, and the middle school and high school are about 4 miles south. The schools are very good by the way. Quick access to Hwy 285 which is now 4 lanes all the way to Denver, or there are RTD buses. Hwy 73 is a way to get to Evergreen and I-70. Of course we are close to all the parks, National Forest, and skiing. The county really takes care of the paved roads. And you have all the services of the big city; newspapers, trash pickup, mail, school buses, etc. There are two new grocery stores, lots of restaurants, medical clinics, libraries, you name it are less than 5 miles away. Still you are situated in your very own forest preserve. The summer temperatures are usually 10 degrees cooler than in Denver. And it normally cools off nicely at night. No need for air conditioning. There are no mosquitoes here. We spend a lot of time out on the decks during the summer.
