Utility bills are astronomical!!!! Pool, spa, old construction, lots of air leaks. Though most electrical has been rewired (need new electrical boxes, not up to code)and most of the old cast iron plumbing has been replaced, there is still problems! The foundation had major problems and was replaced, basement has been flooded atleast 3 times (1x from broken sewage pipes), large attic w/pulldown ladder, Roof needs replacing and there is a water leak in the S/E coner if dining room ceiling, New stucco front (2002). Back patio has an unfinished enterance to the basement and holes in the concrete from the nuberous plumbing repairs. Back side of the house and carport area do not match the front of the house still the old brick and wood siding. Bees have been a constant problem building their hives in the oleanders, under the eaves and in the water shut-off box. The fence has been repaired several times, but needs to be replaced. Neighborhood Description The neighborhood is no longer made of up of Gila Bend community leaders and oldtimers, though Former Mayor Chuck Turner and Businessman Bill Henry still reside. The rest of the neighbor hood is made up of newcomers, primarily latino as the more established families relocate to the area behind Holts Texico. The neighborhood has seen better days. Houses are in need of repair, landscaping, whats left, is dying, brokendown cars on blocks, and traditional suburban homes now resemble those in Algodones Mexico, or Maryvale (Phoenix),AZ... non-traditional colors, cars crusing, and kumbia music blaring loudly evenings and weekends. So much for the sounds of lawnmowers on Saturday afternoon and kids playing in the sprinklers.
