Amazing, spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in the heart of Ghent. I love, love, love this place, but am relocating for my job. I offered to help my landlord find a tenant, since I'm a little more computer savvy than she is. (She has also been a GREAT landlord, and has taken care of anything that needs fixing right away. Felt this was the least I could do in return.) The building only has 8 apartments in it. All tenants are lovely. $1095/month, plus $50 for water. Heat is included. Electric, gas, cable, internet not included, must pay for on your own. Unsure of her pet policy. I do not have pets, but I know other people in the building do. Bathroom comes with extra large storage/linen closet. Bedrooms are large enough to fit a queen bed, dresser and nightstand. Lots of large windows let in a lot of natural light. Apartment has a beautiful balcony overlooking your street. Kitchen is a good size, but does not have a dishwasher or modern fixtures. (This has never been a problem for me though.) You are trading modern appliances for more space, a great location and a charming, beautiful apartment. 10 minute walk to Colley Ave. or Downtown Norfolk. 4 blocks away from Harris Teeter. Like most places in Ghent, coin laundry is in the basement. There is also a laundry facility a couple blocks away. Street parking, but I've NEVER had a problem finding parking more than a couple steps from my door. (Not overcrowded with cars like some other neighborhood streets in Ghent.) I chose not to get a roommate, as this place was affordable enough for me to rent on my own. But it would be a STEAL for 2 people looking to live in a great location together. Apartment comes unfurnished and is available June 1st (maybe a few days earlier if necessary). You would be signing a new, one-year lease with the landlord.
