This home is the ultimate fixer upper. It is huge. It was a magnificent large stately home in past years. It has been about 20 years since anyone lived in it. It was built about 100 years ago. The property appraiser put down 1900 as the built date, which is most likely incorrect. The room measurements are approximations. The home has 12-foot-high ceilings in most of it. It has a metal roof. The metal roof has held up well and the home has very few leaks. The wood that was used to build this home no-doubt came mostly from virgin heart pine timber, which is not prone to termite damage or other WDO. The home was (had to have been) treated for termites (obviously as the home is fairly solid throughout). In its day, it was one fine stately home! I had a pest control company come assess the termite or WDO damage to see if it was restorable. They said it is! It does have some WDO damage to one or two support beams is what they reported. It is off grade with a crawl space. Overall, the home is restorable. One of the add on rooms that was added on years after the original construction does have more WDO damage (as obviously it was not built with the virgin heart pine which comprises 95% of this home. It has a large front porch along the front of the home. The front porch deck boards are in sad shape, but one you come into the main house it is a solid home. The lot is to be surveyed (buyers' expense) out of the 39-acre farm field. It will be an acre deep (209 ft) and have 260 ft on the paved road. This is not a quick fix fixer upper, however, due to the large square footage and high ceilings and true CHARACTER of a fine-fine older home there is plenty of upside $$$ on a fixer upper flip. OR: no doubt it will make a super fine large home for some family once the renovations are complete! One consideration for the renovation would be to turn it into a duplex because there is plenty of inside square footage to do so.
