This 1700's home was originally located on Manton Avenue in Providence. It was saved from destruction by the present owners as young children, the foresight of their mother, and the effort of their father, family, neighbors, and friends. In 1965 the work began. It was disassembled, piece by piece, and rebuilt on its present location, sitting on an oversized lot on the shores of the Narragansett Bay. Another surprise is the size of the lot substantially increased in the late 1950's, prior to the current owners, by a WWII vet. He had a "great idea" to support the seawall. He moved a large barge, now part of the land, and assisted it to its location by an old Oldsmobile car...another story! Filled in over the years it is now comfortably surrounded by a new bulkhead. An added treat of dock approval and room to grow makes this a very special property. Additional photos of the neighborhood effort included.
