I absolutely love the location of this home. Just outside the city hustle and bustle snuggled in the beautiful oak trees just across from Shawnee Mission Park. The home was originally built by a doctor in the late 70’s, then purchased by my grandparents in 1981 and has has remained in the family since. Now I am blessed to have the home as my own. This is an in-ground ranch style home with the main level exposed and a completely finished basement in-ground which really helps with heating and cooling costs. Both HVAC units (one for upstairs and one for downstairs both located in the garage along with the water heater) were replaced in 2023 and upgraded to heat pumps. At that time I also added a 30kW Generac backup generator outside on its own concrete pad that now powers the whole entire house in the event of a low loss, it’s linked into the natural gas line. Also I have added Google fiber, new roof in 2018 with a lifetime warranty, exterior plumbing (to shift water away from the house and to the trees), and refurbished the outdoor electrical outlet for a hot tub behind the house underneath the deck where there’s already a ground from the lightening rods on the roof for the tub and a 24’ wide, 78’ long concrete pad runs the length of the lower level behind the house/below the deck. There is a deck that runs the length of the entire back of the house. I absolutely love it here.
