The house, from the street, is 4 stories. The bottom floor was the F&M Cafe in the 1930's and 1940's as well as Dreher's TV in the 1950's and Winkelbauer Insurance Agency. There was also a small gift shop there in the 1970's. The store front was updated December 2011...insulation,siding, new windows, and steel door. Neighborhood Description This property is zoned Commercial and has the potential for a small business in the ground floor of the house (does have secondary electrical hookups). This neighborhood is from the late 19th century to early 20th century. Many of the properties were owned by George Stem, part of the Thomas Iron/Furnace Company along the Lehigh River. Our home is the only mansion not turned into apartments since modern era. The basement of our home was the former F&M Cafe in the 1930's-early 1950's and still has the storefront. This part of town was known as Stemton before it merged with Seigfried and Laubach to become Northampton Borough. The neighborhood is comprised of middle income working residents, small business owners, and retirees therefore there are not many small children in the neighborhood but we are VERY close to all schools, both public and parochial.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
