La Casita Cottage was built on site of the Grand Hotel which burned down in 1922. The hotel had been built in the 1890s. The cottage has been in the same family since 1971. It was originally a 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage with 525 square feet, and no trees or ground cover. Two more bedrooms and a second bath were added, and one bedroom became the living room. The four season room is a great gathering room for meals, games and conversation. The views of Lake Michigan and the sunsets are favorite reasons to be there. The house is well insulated and the roads are plowed in the winter making it suitable for being a year around home. There is a shed attached to the house with access to the crawl space. There is a free standing barn on the rear of the property.
