This house was designed for William E. Johnson, Chief Purchasing Agent for Bethlehem Steel Company at its Johnstown Plant. It was constructed in 1937 and it featured a suite for a maid on the fully finished third floor. The rear yard was terraced and included a brick and concrete staircase to the first terrace level, a goldfish pond, a fieldstone wall and a grape arbor in the original landscaping. The lot was surveyed on April 24, 1967 and measures 117.5' at frontage and is 192' deep and is exactly rectangular for a total square footage of 22,560 or 0.52 acre. My family owned this house from July 1964 until January 2006.
