On offer is the historic Kennedy House, the grand dame of the Waldoboro Historic Downtown Village District, built in 1830. This property has good bones and many original details, but will need a complete rehabilitation inside. The house is a conventional center hall colonial, with four rooms on each floor, and also contains a full attic which was once partially finish, and has a beautiful cathedral ceiling. A six room ell has been removed from the rear of the house, but can be legally rebuilt (grandfathered, two rental units are possible.) A post and beam barn remains at the rear of the property. While the house is structurally sound, some of the first floor joists will need replacement. The interior has been largely gutted, in preparation for closed cell spray foam insulation; the plaster and lath has been removed, and all original window and door trim is intact. The exterior needs power washing and paint. The exterior of the two large brick chimneys have been rebuilt. New electrical service will be required, as well as complete plumbing, heating, new windows, complete interior finishing, etc. This is not a project for the inexperienced or faint of heart.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
