The mid-eighteenth century house with 1940s addition is located on approximately 22 acres set within a single family home development with 1 acre lots. The historic Lahey Lost Valley property is part of Fairfax County s Resident Curator Program. The Resident Curator Program is designed to preserve the historic properties owned by the County, by offering long-term leases to qualified tenants who agree to rehabilitate and maintain these historic resources in accordance with established preservation standards. A curator can be a private citizen, a non-profit entity, or a for-profit entity, provided that the use is compatible with the property, as determined by the Director of the Fairfax County Park Authority and subject to the standards and criteria of the Resident Curator Program. Chosen through a pre-defined application process, the selected curator signs a lease which includes the agreed-upon work plan outlining the rehabilitation of the historic resource.
