This is one of the oldest houses on Bainbridge Island. Originally it was a cabin for loggers but has been added onto. Very rustic but homey. Sun room adds lots of light which is desirable for this climate. There are two wood stoves but usually only one is needed. Southern exposure to the front of the house and sun room maximizes all sunshine. Out buildings include a little red barn with loft, an artist studio and a quiet room lined with cedar for meditation. Neighborhood Description Walking distance to the beach on one of the road ends provided by the city. Very rural even for this area, some of the homes are old and quaint. Yet the main highway is just around the corner. Lots of nice neighbors with young kids. Traffic is low and people walk and bike here a lot. Neighborhood watch is active. Lowest crime rate of anywhere we have ever lived. Ferry is only 1.75 miles from here.
