North Port is Home of the Atlanta Braves Spring Training. There is an extensive high risk flood zone AE with a Base Flood Elevation of 20.5 ft NAVD88 and a maximum flood depth of about 2.5ft. There is also frequent historical flooding of roadways in this area. Fill can be used to elevated the house to the elevation required per the Florida Building Code. Please check with the City's Building Division in the Neighborhood Development Services (NDS). If any destruction of the wetland and its associated 25ft buffer will need to permitted by Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and mitigated either through purchase of credits from wetland mitigation bank or through creation of equivalent wetlands on the property
