There are about 23 acres of planted pines both loblolly and white pine. The balance of the property is a mature natural forest of oaks, maples, hickory, and native pines. Some of the largest trees are more than 2 feet in diameter. When the leaves fall, you can see the forested ridges all around. Large boulders and rock outcroppings are scattered across the land. A small stream flows though the northeast corner. There is one old pond site waiting to be restored and other sites are possible. Public water main runs along Hwy 11. Eastatoee Mountain property has easy access off Cherokee Foothills Scenic Hwy 11. It is joined on two sides by the Jocassee Gorges Natural Area welcoming foot travel to Eastatoee River. There are several parks, forests, lakes, and other public lands are very nearby including Poe State Park, Eastatoee River, The Jocassee Gorges, Devil's Fork State Park, Keowee-Toxaway State Park, and The Cliffs Vineyards is nearby reached from Roy F. Jones Road. A portion of Jocassee Gorges Natural Area borders the property on two sides. The Eastatoee River runs by close enough to hear and see from the property. Foot traffic is welcome so the river would be yours to enjoy. Trout fishing is year-round. A beautiful rural area of Pickens County, South Carolina just east of Lake Keowee on Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway 11. Close to Keowee Toxaway State Park, Poe Creek State Forest, Long Shoals Park, and The Cliffs Vineyard Community. Many trails, waterfalls and lake access points are a short drive away.
