Beautiful Views abound at this cabin set above Allatoona lake and Sixes Creek. The property is located just four miles off I-575 between Woodstock and Canton. Yet, once inside the gate, it feels far far away from the city. This 1400 sq ft cottage is one of 21 cabins, all members of Hillhouse Lodge a community formed in 1954. We lease the 26 acres of wooded land from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The club was established to allow members to build weekend cabins on the lake and not meant for permanent residences. At the front of the house is the great room with windows on three sides so you can take in the breezes, the trees, the birds and of course sunsets sparkling on the water. The wrap around deck is elevated from the hillside so you sit amongst the trees standing feet away. Our cabin has a master suite at the back of the house with a whirlpool tub under a skylite, a separate shower and a stackable washer/dryer. The second bedroom is nearer to the small original bath. The kitchen has butcher block and granite counters set across from the stone fireplace and hearth.Down the hill is the community clubhouse, available for members to entertain and club functions. The boat ramp is next to our club dock and on the way to our own private island, which is accessible from the cart path. Here on the hill top we have placed a swing, a picnic table and a fire pit for lakeside bonfires and smores. This is one of Atlanta's best kept secret.
