40 acres located 13 miles North of Trinidad, West at the Ludlow exit. Driving into the canyon you will get to experience the former mining town known for the Ludlow Massacre. There is also a United Mine Workers of America Memorial honoring the fallen victims. Before the massacre, Ludlow was largely a tent city for miners and their families.
