City View in the Square Co-op

City View in the Square Co-op will host an open house on Wednesday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served! City View in the Square sits in a beautiful park-like setting. The co-op has 14 stories and 219 one-bedroom apartments. We specialize in affordable housing for seniors 62+. We also have a limited number of apartments available for younger persons who are physically disabled and need the special design features of a unit designed for the mobility impaired. City View in the Square is like many of the CSI Support & Development co-ops having been awarded A Community of Quality by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). We are happy to announce that City View will undergo a major renovation! The renovation will refresh apartments to be like-new. Kitchens will be completely upgraded with new flooring, countertops, cabinets, and new garbage disposals. Bathrooms will be refreshed with new vanities, bathroom fixtures, and medicine cabinets. City View's entire first floor is devoted to common space which will be reconfigured during the renovation to encourage socialization and promote services. A computer room and fitness room will be added. The building's community kitchen, community room, library, and sundries shop will be updated. Resident members assist in the democratically controlled daily business of the co-op. In the evenings, group gatherings are set up by volunteer activities committee for meals, game nights, bingo nights, and many more. There are two full-time service coordinators to assist the members and help them live a long and comfortable life at the co-op. The Co-op is located near downtown Kalamazoo and is walking distance to the farmers market, the Edison neighborhood library, and Bronson Hospital is less than two miles away.
