    What's special

Great kitchenDining counter and stoolsPrivate entranceLots of storageSmall home office nookGood light
Fully furnished basement apartment with private entrance, good light, lots of storage and a great kitchen. It also has a small home office nook, a home theater rig (big-screen Roku and Firestick and sound bar), and Alexa, if you want it. Close to transit, Rock Creek Park, and both small shopping/dining and Big Box stores, in vibrant Historic Mount Pleasant. I live in the apartment above and have tried to keep the historic features with added modern amenities. It's furnished for two people or two couples with expansion to serve more as guests. I like to cook, so the kitchen is big enough for two cooks with a dining counter and stools to keep the guests out from underfoot and there is a herb garden out at the front patio. Kitchen has microwave, smart oven, gas stove, dishwasher, ice maker, coffee grinder and drip pot and all the flatware, plates, and pots you may need. There are individual room heat/AC powered by solar panels on the roof. Owner pays for electricity, gas, water and sewer, trash collection. Heat and air conditioning have individual room controls and are powered by rooftop solar panels. Preference given to non-smokers and tenants who will likely stay a few years, then recommend unit to successors such as graduate students, medical residents, and people on two-year rotations like FSOs. Storage available for bicycles (free) or car (extra fee).
District law requires that a housing provider state that the housing provider will not refuse to rent a rental unit to a person because the person will provide the rental payment, in whole or in part, through a voucher for rental housing assistance provided by the District or federal government.
