The Capitol Hill rowhouse in which you will be living was built in 1913 and has been the home to a wide variety of people since then. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and located in the very middle of Capitol Hill. It is close to all the amenities in this lively, family-friendly neighborhood - and its proximity to the Eastern Market Metro stop makes getting around the city a breeze. In spite of its central location, it is a quiet oasis in DC. The house consists of two floors above ground where we live and a completely seperate English basement where the fully furnished rental apartment is located. There is safe, on street parking which is usually available right in front of the property. The entrance to the rental unit is down 3 stairs behind a locked gate, and there is a small patio that is perfect for sitting, as well as storage (great for bikes or a stroller!). Inside, you enter into the combined living/dining area with a comfortable couch and armchair and large-screen smart TV on one side and a good-sized dining table with 4 chairs on the other. Beyond that, and separated by a counter area with barstool seating for three, is the fully-equipped kitchen with a full dishwasher. Dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans are all provided as well. In the hallway there is a full size, new washer/dryer. The hallway leads to a full bathroom with tub and two bedrooms. The larger back bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser, large closet and a second smart TV. The second smaller bedroom just off the kitchen has a single trundle bed, a small desk and a dresser in the closet. We would prefer a 6+ month lease. If lease is less than 6 months we will cover all utilites (water & electric). If lease is longer than 6 months the renter covers electricity. We are happy to share our wifi with the renter and there is the possibility of cable hook up if that is preferred, which the renter would organize and pay for themselves.
