    What's special

Home lot for sale in coastal Lubec Maine This one acre lot is located on the estuary overlooking the Sand Bar off South Lubec Road in Lubec Maine. The parcel is already set up for a mobile home with gravel pad, power, water, and septic. Currently has a mobile home on it that will be moved. The property is mostly open with ocean views and 300' +\- on the estuary. Property to be divided upon sale. The lot lends itself to either another mobile home, doublewide or stick built or modular home. Enjoy sunrises over Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Watch the weather fronts move off the ocean towards shore from the comfort of your home. Located at the end of the lane, it is very private. At low tide you could walk across the ocean floor to the Sandbar where there is a bird habitat that attracts Eagles and other birds - both large and small. Locals have counted as many as 20+ eagles at one time. Lubec is a coastal community and summertime finds visitors from across the US and other countries. It is the most easterly town in the US and home to the famous West Quoddy Head Lighthouse which marks the most easterly point in the United States and greets the sun first each morning as it spreads its rays across our nation. Locals are sometimes referred to as Downeasters referring to our location as Downeast - the coastal area of Maine from Penobscott Bay to the St. Croix River and into the coastal Canadian Maritimes. The phrase Down East actually comes from nautical terminology referring to the direction, rather than location. A sailor, knowing that the prevailing winds along the coast here and into Canada blew from the southwest, would know that ships would then need to sail downwind to go east. A little confusing to the land lover as sailors were known to refer to a trip to Boston as "going up to Boston" and from Boston here "going downeast to Lubec". This coastal town has over 90 miles of shorefront and the area offers over 12,000 acres of preserved public lands and parks. Take a hike on one of the many trails at West Quoddy Head State Park, Hamilton Cove or the Pike Lands; grab your kayak or canoe and launch from any number of public sites to experience the ebb and flow of our great tides and explore the island studded bays. OR take a short drive in either direction to explore other public lands in Cutler, Edmunds and beyond. Lubec is also home to Summer Keys - a music program that attracts adult students from all over. They come here every year for a week or two to study with artists that have mastered their chosen instrument and on Wednesdays the staff put on a grand concert - free to the public. There is so much to share - from the pristine beauty of the area, the diverse programs offered in the summer, the sleepy winters that bring about winter activities - both indoor and out. Downeast Maine - a great place to be year-round or seasonal.
