    What's special

Charming farmhouseHigh ceilingsLarge closetBack deckWalk in closetWrap-around porch

Private room with high ceilings and a walk in closet. The basement suite has fully appointed kitchen, furnished living room, and full bathroom which is shared with one other person. The room has been freshly painted and is ready to rent immediately. Great location and a short term lease! 3 month lease available at our house which is located between 14th st. and Georgia Ave. It's close to public transportation- just a 7min walk to the Petworth Metro, many popular bus lines, as well as a Capital Bikeshare station. It's an awesome spot for those who want to drive less but there is ample street parking for those who drive. The house is within walking distance to necessities: Yes! Organic Market Safeway Timber Pizza Little Coco's Taqueria Habanero Cinder Rock Creek Park The House Our charming farmhouse is one of the oldest in the neighborhood (1890!) and has some interesting history, but has been fully renovated with modern updates. It is well kept and managed with care. The kitchen has relatively new appliances and comes well stocked. With a wrap-around porch and back deck there's a lot of space for relaxing after long days at work and on lazy weekend afternoons. A washer and dryer are conveniently on-site. The Available Room The room is in the basement apartment and is approximately 110 square feet total. It has a large closet and enough space for most of the standard bedroom furniture like a queen bed, desk, and dresser. In the past it has been rented by multiple PhD candidates, a barista, a law school student and a teacher. The room rents for $900 and utilities are a flat $100 fee per month (Gas, water, and electric). The basement also has a kitchen, living room, and bathroom which is shared with one other housemate. The Housemates The house is occupied by a variety of people who work for the Fed, at a non-profit, as a nurse, DCPS, and in sales. Everyone gets along well and is respectful of each other's space making it a pleasant place to live. Other important things As mentioned before, utilities are a flat $100 fee. We have a cleaning service that comes once a month. That is approximately $25 per month. Verizon FIOS will be split evenly between the housemates. That will also be around $30 per month. That's both cable and internet. We split the costs of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc. evenly among the house. This is for a short term lease ending no later than May 31st. It would be ideal for a student, traveling nurse, intern, or someone new to DC who wants to get the lay of the land before signing a long term lease. Rather than do an open house we try to have people check it out individually to see if it is a good fit. to Please let us know who you are and thanks for reading!
