An entrance to the Metropolitan Branch Trail is close by. There are also bike-share stations and car-share spaces in the neighborhood. BEAUTIFUL BROOKLAND NEIGHBORHOOD The vibrant, historic community of Brookland supports the arts with Dance Place, galleries, a monthly Arts Walk, and includes many working artists, musicians, writers, and actors as neighborhood residents. Many residents are involved in the Greater Brookland Garden Club, Neighborhood Watch and our active neighborhood list-serves. Our Brookland "Main Street" is 12th St. NE, located two blocks away from the apartment. We are within easy walking distance to both the Red Line Brookland/CUA Metro Station and the Rhode Island Metro station, buses, the Woodridge branch of the DC Public Library, Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, the post office, banks, shops, restaurants, bars, Right Proper micro-brewery, Starbucks and other coffee shops, "Yes," a natural foods grocery store, and a Barnes & Noble bookstore. We are close to several bike-share stations, car-share stations, major hospitals and two fire stations. On Tuesdays and Sundays from May to October shop at the Brookland Farmers' Market which is located near the Brookland/Catholic U Metro Station. An additional Farmers' Market, The Home Depot, a Giant grocery store and additional retail stores and restaurants are located near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station. From the apartment it is about a ten-minute drive north to Fort Lincoln with its Costco, Lowes and more retail stores. A ten-minute drive south will get you to Capitol Hill, NOMA, Eckington, Trinidad, H Street Corridor, Bloomingdale, Shaw, Logan Circle and the National Mall.
