Our water front cottage is the perfect place to vacation every day at home! This lovely home is seated on the shores of Waushakum Pond which straddles the Framingham/Ashland line. The House: The cottage sits behind a larger main house mere feet from the shore. It was built in 1948 and has plenty of character but was recently updated with new hardwood floors, cabinets, counter-top, shower, tile, carpet, paint and lighting. Mass Save recently upgraded the insulation and air sealing. The kitchen, back bedroom and screened in porch offer fantastic views of the pond. There is an attic and a dirt basement for additional storage if needed. The space stays pretty cool in the summer and warm in the winter due to shade and it's proximity to the water. There are two heat pumps used for both heating and cooling. The stove is gas and a microwave, refrigerator, toaster and countertop dishwasher are can be provided. The Yard: The yard is a shared space with the main house. There is a grill available and large fire pit right on the water behind the cottage. There is also a nice little swing that extends over the water. There is a dock which you can keep a boat on or fish from as well. There is a tikibar on a pontoon that you're welcome to use as well. We are ok with a tenant that has a well trained dog but no cats will be allowed in the cottage. The Location: Waushakum Pond is a "Great Pond" a stones throw away from the newly revitalized downtown Framingham. The commuter rail is walking distance (though far enough away that you don't hear it) from the house and goes to Worcester and downtown Boston. There are lots of great restaurants, breweries and activities in close proximity. Anna Murphy Park is right down the street which has tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball/soccer field and playground. The house is also a few seconds' walk from Waushakum beach. The pond itself is awesome. Great for paddleboarding and swimming. Lake neighbors are friendly and laid back. It is one of the few bodies of water in the area that allow full recreational boating. In the winter the water freezes which is great for Hockey, Ice skating and snowmobiling. It's a great spot for an active or relaxing lifestyle and we're sure you'll enjoy it just as much as we do! Owner pays trash, water and sewer only. Tenant responsible for gas, electric and snow removal. Max occupancy is 3 people.
