Our cat has the run of ADU and main house, and though she will NOT be allowed into your main house space unless you want her, of course...(she is adorable), there are always traces of cat allergens in a home where cats have lived. There is a large dog run in the backyard, accessible through the garage or via a gate near the trash area. Please note the owners will be living on Oahu between June 20 and the end of July and will return to occupy the ADU from July onward. This furnished two-bedroom main home will remain available (minus the garage bonus room that the owner's son occupies) after July. The Neighborhood in all seasons: From this home, take a short walk along the stunning Deschutes River trail or meander through the magnificent homes of Southern Crossing, and you will find yourself very quickly in the heart of Bend. The Hayden Homes Amphitheater and the shops of the Mill District are about a mile's walk (or a few minutes bike ride) through the picturesque Farewell Bend Park, where you will find a wide array of exquisite shops and dining options to suit any taste, all without needing a car to get there. This property isn't merely a place to live and work - it's a sanctuary offering the perfect tranquil city retreat, with the convenience of walkability to the most desirable attractions, from the natural beauty of the Deschutes River to the most vibrant downtown breweries, concerts, and shopping in Bend. I have several tubes, three paddleboards, and two kayaks for our house guests to use, free of charge. These amenities come with the simple agreement that the equipment is returned in the same condition it left in or will be replaced. Summer: The river is RIGHT outside your door, and it is easy to carry a paddleboard or float to the river's edge, put in about 150 yards from the house, and float! Farewell Bend Park is right across the street from the front entrance to our neighborhood, where you can get out and walk back home. We call it the float "loop", and it is great fun for about half the year! You can float a mile or so all the way past Hayden Homes (where you can catch a concert from the river) or continue to the take-out way downstream at Miller's Landing. Winter: Bachelor is a short drive away (around 25-30 minutes depending on traffic), and offers the longest Nordic snow season in Oregon, along with the 7th largest resort in North America! Even if you do not ski or ride, fun in the snow is right at your doorstep, with many nearby snow play areas. We have a multitude of equipment, in case you have forgotten anything. FYI on Schools, for longer-term guests in the future, note that this listing is currently available for Summer 2026 only: If you have children of any age, this home is zoned for Bend's highest-rated public schools, from elementary to middle to high school. If you prefer a private school option, Seven Peaks School (the Bend High feeder K-8 International Baccalaureate program) is a short walk away, in the same area (about a mile away) next to Cascade Middle. The home is zoned for Bend High but is even closer to Summit for those who wish to attend either school. A trundle bed can be installed to provide two twin beds upon request (and with enough lead time for me to order it). There is a high loft play space (not meant for small children or sleeping) in the office. I will remove the ladder for those with small children, for safety reasons. The second bathroom adjacent to the office features a tub-shower combo, ensuring every guest can find their perfect retreat. There is a third full bathroom with a shower and a utility sink in the laundry room. Note: this bathroom and laundry room will be shared with the owner's son when we are here. There is a separate laundry in the ADU for owner use, so the downstairs shared laundry/bathroom will be available to the main house tenants 90% of the time. I occasionally need to use this laundry room to turn the casita (Airbnb rental) out front. The simply stunning private outdoor living space dedicated to this ground-floor unit features a large rock with a seasonal waterfall, a grill, a patio table, chairs under a large umbrella, and a custom, extra-large hand-built fire pit. We are animal lovers and understand that they are our babies, but the situation must be tenable for both upstairs and downstairs tenants/owner, so we must limit the number of animals, such as dogs and cats, to a total of two, and it will be on a case-by-case basis. I have one sweet, elderly dog and one cat. If you are severely allergic to cats, this is NOT the place for you, as she's had the run of both houses. Though we are extremely clean and the entire place will be professionally cleaned prior to your tenancy, we cannot guarantee cat allergens won't be present. If you have a barking dog, they are unwelcome in this neighborhood! Leases are subject to early termination due to recurring animal-related noise issues. In addition to the security deposit, I will collect an additional refundable pet deposit of $500 upon move-in and a monthly pet fee of $50 per animal. Cleaning fees: Upon move-out, a cleaning fee of $500 will be deducted from the initial deposit for pet owners, and $350 for non-pet owners. The extra $200 is for a professional couch cleaning.
