Recently renovated spacious second floor apartment in 100 year old Victorian home located on historic Oakley street -- a safe, quiet neighborhood two blocks from the river and walking distance to downtown Cambridge. Enjoy a wrap-around porch, great neighbors and a sizeable, shared backyard. The apartment includes a large primary bedroom, a smaller bedroom and a 3rd room off the primary bedroom that could be a bedroom or office. The kitchen has new cabinets, tile floor, sink & countertops. The bathroom has also been renovated. The home was legally separated into four distinct apartments with separate entrances: two apartments are on the first floor, the largest apartment is on the second floor and there is a small apartment on the 3rd floor. Both first floor apartments are rented and the landlords, who live in DC, occupy the 3rd floor apartment when they periodically visit. The property has a coin operated washer and dryer in the basement for tenants only. We are looking for long-term tenants and are happy to sign a one year or multiyear lease with the right person. The gas and electric utilities are separate and the tenant would make arrangements directly with the utility company. The house is wired for Comcast cable/internet. Each tenant maintains their own cable account. Water & trash are paid for by the landlord. We definitely do not want smoking in or around the house. We're pet friendly as long as they don't make a lot of noise or damage the apartment. Street parking is available. AC is provided through window units and heat is provided by hydronic baseboard heat. We lowered the rent by $100 (to $1,300) because it doesn't have central heat. We understand that there is a shortage of housing in Cambridge and that there are so many good people with compelling stories who are eager for an apartment. We wish we could help everyone, but we can't. To try and be as fair as possible, we're going to set clear rental criteria: - Credit score of 740 or higher - Clean background report (no felonies, no fraud, no rental problems). - Positive prior landlord references - A stable job that reliably generates 5x rent = $75,000 annually. We're happy to accept a reusable tenant screening report.
