Oldest structure in town was begun in 1816 as plantation house. Added to in 1859 (see 205 Morton listing). Was used as officer quarters and hospital during US Civil War. Original woodwork and plaster walls. Living room fireplace has gas log with remote control. Updated in 1986 with new kitchen & baths. Roof replaced in 2007. Neighborhood Description Great neighbors who have been here for some time in single family homes built this century. Four churches close by - one was attended by Gen. Lee while encamped close to town. Our street is two blocks from Main Street where there are shops, the Post Office, weekend Farmer's Markets, and the courthouse. There is the local mini bus to take passengers around to shops and appointments which stops at the end of the street. Great place for walking and biking.
