PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: 3 years ago our Vic was going to be replaced with condos. My wife and I couldn't stand the thought, and bought her. We got a city permit, gutted her to the framing, and rebuilt her from the inside out doing much of the work ourselves. Our Vic is the oldest building in the area, but she's now reborn and enjoying a new life. Much is new and modern inside, but we kept the classic Victorian look and feel. The rebuild included double ceilings and walls, double paned windows, rock wool insulation , and lightweight concrete floors. All this was for weather and sound proofing. Our Vic is so quiet you can't hear your neighbors knock on their walls. Even street noise is hard to hear. In addition, the apartment has 10 foot ceilings, tall windows, and ceiling fans. The result is a light and airy feeling apartment but also it's warm and cozy even on the coldest and wettest days. But open the windows, turn on the ceiling fans and the western breeze keeps you cool. Nevertheless, we will be installing AC by June 1. The kitchen sparkles with a new granite counter top, a tile back splash, mahogany wood cabinets, and new appliances including a new gas stove, a new frig, and a new built in microwave oven. The bathroom also sparkles from the tile floor and tile back splash. Like the kitchen and living room, the bedroom is sunny and bright with lots of natural light from the tall windows and 10 foot ceilings. The apartment is designed for easy living and easy maintenance. It has its own private deck to lounge or entertain on. The complex is gated, secure, and private. It has an on-site laundry with a new coin-op washer and dryer maintained 24/7 by the WASH Laundry Company. You get one parking spot in the well lighted, and secure lot. There are electric sliding gates in front and out back that are operated by a hand held remote. The landscaping is as welcoming as the building and maintained by professional gardeners. In addition, we will soon be installing a water softening system which will make our tap water as fresh and tasty as the most expensive bottled water. Regarding utilities, you pay for gas, lights, cable, and internet. We pay for water, trash and garbage removal, outside security lights, and gardening. The apartment is available now. We're asking $1375 rent, a one year lease, and a $1400 fully refundable deposit. Nonsmokers and no dogs, please. Indoor cats are ok. Other pets are on approval. Our address is 2783 K St. Please drive by. Look for the classic two story Victorian building. Please note that the neighborhood consists of mostly houses, not apartment buildings, and is still pretty much as it was when the structures were originally built. It's a nice feeling. Because our workers left by 5 PM, we were alone for several hours after dark. We had no problems--no break-ins, no vandalism, no graffiti, no issues of any kind. On the contrary, our neighbors were helpful, respectful, and kind. We have only good things to say about this neighborhood. Owner pays for water, secur
