My wife and I were happy to call this bright, spacious, top (second) floor apartment our home, but as our family grew we took the leap and moved to a single family house. There are so many things we liked about this place: -it has been rehabbed, yet we worked to preserve the cool, vintage woodwork. -good layout with a bright, spacious living room, dining room, and two bedrooms that could fit a queen sized bed, and have ample closet space. -a rehabbed kitchen with granite countertops, white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher! -the bathroom was updated a few years ago. -the building has coin-laundry and lots of private storage space. -central heat / central AC. -a balcony, porch and backyard. -a garage parking space is available for only $150 per month! -the other 2 apartments in the building have very nice, thoughtful tenants. My wife and I pride ourselves on taking good care of our tenants, promptly fixing all maintenance issues, while still respecting everyone's privacy. We want tenants to feel at home, while still respecting their neighbors. We love the neighborhood, it offers reasonable access to public transportation (Belmont Blue Line and Milwaukee Bus) and the highway. Lonely Planet Travel Magazine described Avondale as one of the 10 hottest neighborhoods in the US. There are some good places to eat and drink in the area: Starapolska (Polish), Mazamitla and La Catrina (Mexican), EaThai, La Villa Pizza, Void, Joong Boo (Korean), Brasa Roja (Colombian), etc. For coffee I reccomend: Brew Brew, Milli, Avondale Coffee Club, etc. For pubs, I enjoy: Avondale Tap, Small Bar, Reed's Local and Lake Effect Brewery.
